Tracing buried pipes and cables can present major difficulties. The trouble is magnified in cases where a pipe has rubber seals, insulators or even gaps between sections. If not overcome, these problems can result in costly repairs, delays and in some instances personal injury.
Locate and trace buried plastic water pipes with the RD500. Low cost and easy to use, the RD500 traces plastic water pipes over distances up to 150m/yds from the point of application of the TransOnde transmitter. Operators can learn how to utilize this locater in only a few minutes. The RD500 is in two parts: the TransOnde transmitter which is fitted to a fire hydrant, meter base, or tap and the handheld RD500 receiver which traces buried pipe away from the TransOnde. The TransOnde applies a distinctive pressure wave signal along the pipe that is located by the seismic sensor in the receiver. The signal is then amplified to provide a response on the RD500 meter and in the headphones.
The RD500 receiver comes with a 62-inch earth probe, concrete/asphalt disc, headphones, carrying case, and videotape. The receiver is powered by a 9-volt battery and provides pinpointing information using an analog meter and headphones. |
